What is a typical Postpartum Doula's day like?

When you welcome a little one into your home, the days can blur together with so much to do. One feeding can blend into the next, after burping, diapering, soothing and then distractions, we find ourselves right back at the beginning, to do it all again.

Refilling your jug of water and preparing a healthy lunch used to be no trouble at all, and now you're finding yourself scrambling for a granola bar at best, or nothing at all at worst, as you glance through semi-empty cupboards.

When you top that with the additional demands of your own physical recovery, it may seem like things will never get back to normal. That's why having a doula is so helpful during the day. She'll encourage you, teach you little tips to make things easier, take care of your home and make you feel like a pampered queen. She'll help you establish the "new normal" while making sure you're fed, well-rested and have plenty of time to snuggle and get to know your baby without any of the daily household concerns. All your needs are met while she's there, and if she's really good, you're set for quite a while after she's gone too!
